I still don’t have a license for busking here in Lisbon, but fate is on my side: A friend of mine is currently touring as a merch guy with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and tonight, they’re playing in Lisbon.
It’s the first show of the tour, so I jump in to help – unloading and counting all the band’s merch. A little cash-in-hand never hurts.
Before the concert starts, I invent a new category of guerrilla gigs and play a pre-opening for the 1,200 people waiting outside the Music Station.
