Last time it was a flute player. This time? A full band. I head out from Alcântara with my gear, jumping on the tram into the heart of Lisbon. It’s 11 a.m., the sun is out, and I’m feeling lucky.
Down by the river Tejo I find the perfect spot – beautiful view, lots of people. But of course: already taken. A band is setting up. Probably with a license, maybe not. Either way – they’re there first.
So I keep walking and end up in a small park next to the Time Out Market. Not as busy, but I take the chance to try out some new covers. Just playing feels good.
After the set I meet some friends for lunch. Today’s earnings? Invested straight into a damn good burger. Priorities.
My tip for Cais do Sodré:
Time Out Market is worth a visit – but brace yourself for tourist prices.
If you’re hungry:
Dallas Burger around the corner in São Bento – great for a quick bite.
Panda Cantina (scattered across the city) – amazing ramen when you need something warm.
